Lasik Eye Surgery

LASIK (Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis) is a popular eye surgery used to treat common vision problems like nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism. The procedure uses a laser to reshape the cornea, which is the clear, dome-shaped surface that covers the front of the eye. This reshaping allows light entering the eye to focus more accurately onto the retina, improving vision.

During the surgery:

  1. A thin flap is created on the surface of the cornea.
  2. The underlying corneal tissue is reshaped using a laser.
  3. The flap is then repositioned, allowing the eye to heal naturally.

LASIK is known for being quick, with minimal discomfort, and for offering significant improvement in vision, often reducing or eliminating the need for glasses or contact lenses.
