Varicose veins

Varicose veins are enlarged, twisted veins that typically appear on the legs and feet. They occur when the valves in the veins that help blood flow in one direction become weak or damaged. This causes blood to pool in the veins, making them visible and swollen. Varicose veins can be blue, purple, or red and are often accompanied by symptoms like pain, swelling, and a feeling of heaviness or discomfort. In some cases, varicose veins may not cause symptoms, but they can sometimes lead to more serious issues like blood clots or skin ulcers if left untreated.
